Islamabad, December 18, 2024 – Mr. Nicolas Lambert, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Pakistan, paid a farewell visit to Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed HI(M), President of the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA).

During the meeting, President NIMA thanked Mr. Lambert for his invaluable efforts in fostering a strong partnership through the MoU signed earlier this year. The collaboration between NIMA and the ICRC has significantly advanced awareness of maritime governance, legal education, and the integration of humanitarian principles to protect innocent lives and dignity at sea.

He highlighted the book as a landmark achievement that blends operational guidance with humanitarian values to address challenges faced by seafarers and maritime communities.

“We deeply value ICRC’s collaboration in addressing legal and humanitarian aspects of maritime operations. This partnership has set a strong foundation for future initiatives,” said President NIMA.

Mr. Lambert expressed gratitude for the productive collaboration and reaffirmed the ICRC’s commitment to promoting human dignity within maritime affairs.
