Team Envision NUST PNEC, a student-led team has been a consistent participant in the Shell Eco-marathon since its inception in 2009. The team has gained recognition for its commitment to innovation and sustainability in energy-efficient vehicle design.

Over the past 15 years, Team Envision has been a pioneer in developing energy-efficient vehicles, earning multiple accolades, including the Best Team Spirit Award (2009, 2012), Communication Award (2014, 2017, 2022), and the Technical Innovation Award (2015, 2018, 2019). The team made history in 2010 by developing Pakistan’s first fully automated remote-controlled prototype and won the Shell Dream Concept Car Award in 2016.
Shell Eco-marathon is a globally renowned energy efficiency competition, challenging teams to design fuel-efficient vehicles through innovation. The 2025 edition hosted 61 teams from all over Asia and the Middle East. This year, Team Envision competed in the Shell Eco-marathon Asia Pacific and Middle East, held at the Lusail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar, from February 8 to 12, 2025.

At the Shell Eco-marathon 2025, Team Envision represented Pakistan with two innovative entries:
- Prototype Vehicle (Yasoob) – A fully electric, single-seat, three-wheeler vehicle designed for maximum energy efficiency. Built with a durable mild steel chassis, the vehicle features a lightweight lower body made of carbon fiber and an upper body of glass fiber. It is powered by lithium-ion batteries for enhanced performance.
- Urban Concept Vehicle (Doc Hudson) – A fully electric, single-seater vehicle engineered for urban commuting. It features a monocoque chassis, ensuring both safety and lightweight efficiency. The body, composed entirely of glass fiber, enhances aerodynamics and energy efficiency.

Team Envision successfully passed the rigorous technical and safety inspections for both vehicles, qualifying them to compete on the track. These inspections are crucial in ensuring compliance with competition standards.

This year, Team Envision has secured first place in the Communications Award, a prestigious recognition that honors teams for their effective storytelling, outreach, and engagement strategies. The team’s compelling online and offline campaigns, along with their emphasis on safety awareness, distinguished them from competitors and earned them this honor.
Competing at the Lusail International Circuit, Team Envision highlighted Pakistan’s expertise in STEM education, engineering, and sustainable innovation. Their participation on this global stage underscores the nation’s dedication to advancing energy-efficient technologies and fostering future generations of engineers. Through continuous innovation and excellence, Team Envision continues to push boundaries in sustainable vehicle development.
