Inauguration of the Green Line Train

Pakistan Railways started the Green Line Passenger Train from Islamabad to Karachi on January 27th, as a superior service to facilitate passengers and generate increased revenue for the department. According to officials, the Green Line is Pakistan’s first ever modern train which would cover the Karachi-Islamabad route in 22 hours. The new train service provides multiple facilities such as high-quality meals, Wi-Fi, and air-conditioned rooms.

On 27th January, the inauguration of the Green Line Train was done in the presence of the Prime Minister. While making a visit to several coaches, PM Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the quality of the services. The routes of the train were also announced, with stops at Rawalpindi, Chaklala, Lahore, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rohri, Hyderabad, Drigh Road, and Karachi stations.

The Green Line Train provides facilities like breakfast, hi-tea, lunch, and dinner along with Wi-Fi services, according to Khawaja Saad Rafique, the Minister of Railways. The estimated time of the green line’s round from Karachi to Islamabad is about twenty-two hours.

The train has two AC parlors, five AC businesses, six AC standards, and four to five economy-class coaches. This railway line also has high-quality bedding and other facilities like utility kits which would be provided to the passengers. This new train service would benefit thousands of passengers and make travelling much more comfortable.
