The Arab-Israel relations have gathered considerable momentum in the past one month, ever since Israel’s peace deals with the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Similar developments will surely follow, and analysts are already speculating about the prospective Arab states.
In recent years, diplomatic relations between the Muslim Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Israel have expanded – which was previously thought to be impossible due to Israel’s mistreatment and annexation of Palestinian lands. Most recently and shockingly, however, the UAE recognized Israel as a state and both countries have officially began diplomatic relations upsetting many Muslims around the world.
Since ISIS’s inception, it has devastated the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and beyond. The UAE rose as an unlikely hero in the global war against ISIS. This paper highlights the country’s commitment against the Islamic State as well as the specific steps it has taken against the terror group.
