Babar Bilal Haider
Dr. Baber Bilal Haider is a retired commodore of Pakistan Navy. Currently working as a Vice President NIMA & Director of the Indian Ocean Study Centre (IOSC) at National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), Islamabad. During his distinguished career, he has served on various Command and Staff appointments including Commanding Officer of Frigate and Corvette, Director PNTS, Deputy Naval Secretary, Commanding Officer PNS Dilawar, and Directing Staff NDU. He has also served as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Gambia. His areas of interest include the Indian Ocean Region, Maritime Diplomacy, Traditional and Non-Traditional security threats in IOR, and Maritime security. He has also been a member of the editorial board for National Maritime Policy (NMP) – 2002 & revised an NMP-2023 in recognition to his services, he has been bestowed with a Sitara-Imtiaz Military by Pakistan and a special honor award by the Republic of the Gambia. He holds PhD Degree in International Relations from Italy.
