Developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, the J-10C “Vigorous Dragon” is a highly capable Chinese multirole fighter jet. This medium-weight, single-engine fighter, also known by the NATO designation “Firebird,” features an advanced canard-delta wing configuration. It serves with both the Chinese armed forces and the Pakistan Air Force as a key export asset. The introduction of the J-10C fighter jet is an important measure taken by Pakistan’s security and political leadership to deal with potential security threats to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The jet is classified as a 4.5 generation aircraft, capable of reaching a maximum altitude of 59,000 feet and a top speed of Mach 1.8. It possesses 11 weapon stations and is notably equipped with the PL-15 missile. With a maximum takeoff weight of 19.28 tons and a unit cost ranging from $40 to $50 million, the J-10C is a potent and sophisticated asset.
