When talking about the satellites of Pakistan, one should know that the country has launched five significant spacecraft, showcasing its growing capabilities in space. The journey began with the PAKSAT-1R in 2011, a long-range satellite providing essential television, internet, and government communications, effectively replacing older foreign satellites. In 2018, the nation deployed PRSS-1 for detailed land resource mapping, environmental monitoring, and supporting precision agriculture.
The year 2024 marked two ambitious achievements: the launch of the ICUBE-QAMAR, Pakistan’s first deep-space satellite, which captures images and conducts research in lunar orbit, and the PAKSAT-MM1, designed to deliver advanced broadband internet and broadcast communications across multiple regions.
The PRSC-E01, launched in January 2025, provides high-resolution earth observation, a crucial tool for urban planning and effective disaster response. Below is an infographic on the satellites of Pakistan.
