Pink Buses in Karachi

The Government of Sindh has launched another public transport service—the pink bus service. It is exclusively for females, making commuting within Karachi convenient and affordable.

On 1st February 2023, the pink bus service for women in Karachi was launched by the Government of Sindh. The inauguration of the pink bus service was done by Sharjeel Memon, the Minister of Information and Transport in Sindh. The route from Malir Cantt to Tower through Shahrah-e-Faisal is the defined route of the pink buses.

To make travelling and transport easier for women and young girls, the Government of Sindh decided to take this initiative and start this service with a total of ten buses. It was also launched to create a more gender-inclusive society. These buses are scheduled to run every hour after office hours and every twenty minutes during office hours.

This is a very significant step by the government of Sindh to address the needs and issues of the women in Karachi, especially working women.
