After delivering 150 units of the Changan Oshan X7 across Pakistan, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has now exported the Oshan X7, an SUV vehicle, to a market in the Oceania region. This brave move, taken under the new Auto Industry Development and Export Policy (AIDEP 2021–26), will now serve as a precedent for all the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to start exporting locally assembled/manufactured vehicles.

Currently, the latest model of the Changan Oshan X7 is only being produced in China and Pakistan, and Pakistan is Changan’s first (and only) Right Hand Drive (RHD) manufacturing base. With China’s assistance, the plant was completed in a record time of 13 months and is now capable of producing around 50,000 units per year.

Referring to the shipping off ceremony of the car, Danial Malik (CEO, MCML) stated: “We are delighted and proud to lead Pakistan into a new chapter in the auto industry and make its mark on a global level. The Changan Oshan X7 is the first of many more vehicles to be exported under our vision to stay Future Forward, Forever, and the Auto Industry Development and Export Policy (AIDEP 2021-26).”

The sentiment was furthered by Steven Zhao (Vice-CEO, MCML) who stated that: “Master Changan is our first RHD production base and we are very happy to export our RHD Oshan X7 SUV from Pakistan”. The Oshan X7 is one of the very few vehicles in Pakistan that is offering features like collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and even auto braking.
