The government of Sindh has launched electric buses in Karachi. The announcement was made by Minister Sharjeel Inam, who said that the service would be available to the residents of the city starting from January 13, 2023. He further added that electric buses would start from Tank Chowk Malir Cantt to the clock tower roundabout through Khayaban-e-Ittehad.

Moreover, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority claimed that the electric bus service would be solar-powered, allowing residents to enjoy a comfortable ride with affordable fares.

The Sindh government has also sought to introduce pink taxis operated by women, with each installed with monitoring systems to ensure security. Such electric buses would be affordable, safe, and sustainable for the citizens of Karachi.
