With a winning cash prize of US$500,000, the 2022 edition of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS)-Pakistan Golf Championship will be a part of the Asian Tour and is scheduled to take place from 1st through 4th December at the Karachi Golf Club (KGC).

The Asian Tour is the principal body that runs professional golf tournaments within the Asian region. The last golf tournament in Pakistan that had been a part of the Asian Tour was the UMA-CNS Open in 2018.

Located in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) is the governing body of golf in the country. It replaced the Pakistan Golf Union in 1982, following the introduction of a new sports policy. Presently, 48 golf courses have been registered with the PGF.

Although golf is nowhere near cricket or other sports in terms of popularity, that may soon change if the Pakistan Gold Championship continues to be added to the Asian Tour and if golf courses like the Rumanza Golf and Country Club in Multan are to empower and provide state-of-the-art facilities to the talented youth.
